LivCom: Expert guided tour of the Guildhall’s hidden gem

Saturday, 14 March 2026 - 13:45 until 15:30

The Guildhall art gallery is one of London's hidden gems. And there is no better guide to it than Liveryman David Harry, known by millions on social media as The London Spy.

David, an official City of London Guide and one of the gallery’s volunteer lecturers, will be your host for an extensive 90-minute tour of the amazing art collection.

You will see the largest oil painting in the country, John Singleton Copley's The Defeat of the Floating Batteries at Gibraltar, (pictured) which measures 10ft x 25 ft.

You’ll also enjoy a pre-Raphaelite masterpiece, some subversive political art, the earliest printed map of London, and discover the reason Pythagoras didn’t eat beans, and much, much more

The tour will culminate in a tour of the Roman amphitheatre that was discovered underneath the gallery during its rebuilding in the 1980s.

Not only will David share his vast store of knowledge, he will also encourage you to develop your own interpretation of each painting.

Tickets are £25 each with a maximum of two per Stationer and the tour is strictly limited to 20 people. Meet outside the gallery entrance in Guildhall Square from 1.45pm onwards; there is a bag security check inside.

The entire proceeds will be donated to the Hall charity.
